What Charmreef is

A child colors a printed fish. An adult photographs the sheet. That fish, in those colors, swims in an online aquarium you can open on a phone, a computer or a television.

Who operates Charmreef

An adult must handle the website: aquarium names, uploads, sign-in and purchases. You must be at least 18 and old enough to make a binding contract where you live. Children can color — on paper, or on the screen with a finger — and watch the aquarium with an adult.

If you upload a child's work, you must be their parent or legal guardian, or have permission from someone who is.

These Terms apply when you use Charmreef, and you agree to them expressly when you buy a plan. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle information.

Who you are dealing with

Charmreef is run by GNR PRODUCTION INC, 5430 Corteen Pl, Valley Village, CA 91607, United States. Anything at all: hello@charmreef.com.

Plans and payments

Free gives you one aquarium with up to four fish. Reef costs US$6.99 once and allows three aquariums with up to 20 fish each. Ocean costs US$11.99 once and allows six aquariums with up to 30 fish each.

Each paid plan is a single payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Plans do not add up, and there is no credit for an earlier purchase: Ocean costs the full US$11.99 even if you already have Reef, and the bigger plan's limits replace the smaller one's. The total is shown before you pay.

Buying a plan gives your Google account a license to use that plan's limits while Charmreef operates, under these Terms. It does not transfer ownership of our software, and it is not a promise that the online service will run forever. The license ends if the payment is refunded or reversed, if access is ended under “Content and account restrictions” below, or if Charmreef permanently closes.

Payment happens on Stripe's checkout page; we never receive your card number. A payment provider or wallet may keep payment details under its own terms and your settings with it. A purchase never authorizes recurring charges from us.

The plan is added to the Google account you are signed in with as soon as Stripe confirms the payment, usually within a minute. Nothing is shipped. Charmreef runs in a current web browser; a television needs its own web browser. Please try the free plan on your devices before buying.

A failed or canceled payment does not activate a plan. If you are charged and the plan does not appear, or you are charged twice by mistake, email us and we will fix it or refund the charge.

We may change prices for future purchases. A price change never changes what you already paid.

Refunds

Email hello@charmreef.com within 7 days after your payment for a full refund. No reason and no form needed. Your request counts if you send it within those 7 days, even if we process it later. Please include the email address you bought with, or your receipt.

We refund the full amount paid for that purchase to the original payment method, and aim to send the refund within five business days of finding the purchase. Your bank may take several more days to show it.

After a full refund, your account goes back to any paid plan it still has from a purchase that was not refunded, or otherwise to Free. The refund itself deletes no fish and no aquariums; you can still open and watch everything you had. On Free:

• an aquarium with fewer than four fish can take new fish until it has four;
• in an aquarium that already has four or more, adding a new fish means choosing an existing fish to remove, and the new one takes its place;
• the account can make a new aquarium only when it has none left.

This 7-day offer is in addition to any rights you have under the law or through your bank. You may contact your bank about a charge; contacting us first is welcome but not required. If a payment is finally reversed, the same plan adjustment applies, and we will not delete your fish because you raised a dispute.

Links and access

An aquarium has no password. Anyone with its link can see its fish and name and add fish. In an aquarium a signed-in account owns, only that account can rename it, change its backdrop and remove fish, except that people can remove fish they added themselves from the same browser. In an aquarium no account has claimed, anyone with the link can do all of these things. Signing in does not make the link private.

Signing in connects your aquariums to your Google account, so you can find them on another device, and an aquarium your account owns can be deleted only by that account. An aquarium no account has claimed can be deleted by anyone with its link.

Without signing in, your browser keeps a list of your aquariums on that device. Save each aquarium's link somewhere safe too: clearing browser data or changing devices can remove the list, and if you lose both the list and the link we may not be able to find the aquarium for you.

The short code a television shows connects that TV to an aquarium for up to five minutes. It is separate from the aquarium's link.

Your family's drawings

Uploading does not give us ownership of your family's work. You and your child keep whatever rights you have in it. Rights in our fish coloring pages stay with their owners.

You give us permission to store, copy, resize, technically adapt and display each uploaded drawing as needed to run your aquarium — including showing it to anyone who opens the aquarium's link, and letting our hosting and backup providers handle it for that purpose. You must have the authority to give this permission. It ends when the drawing is deleted from the active service, apart from the limited backup period described in the Privacy policy. It does not let us use the drawing in marketing or any public gallery.

If we would ever like to feature a drawing, we will ask you separately and say which drawing, where it would appear and for how long. Saying no changes nothing about your use of Charmreef.

You can download the fish images in an aquarium at any time, as one ZIP file: on the home page, tap the three dots next to the aquarium and choose “Download the fish”. For an aquarium a signed-in account owns, only that account can download it.

Content and account restrictions

Upload only colored fish sheets you are entitled to use. Leave out personal details about a child or anyone else. Do not upload anything unlawful, hateful or sexual, do not interfere with the service, and do not use someone else's account without permission.

We may remove content or restrict access when reasonably needed to deal with a breach of these Terms, infringement, a security threat or a legal requirement. Where practical, we will explain the problem first and give the account holder a chance to fix it; we may act immediately if waiting could cause harm or break the law. We aim to restrict only the content or feature involved rather than a whole account. If you think we got it wrong, email us and we will review it.

If we end your paid access without a material breach by you, we will refund the affected plan payment.

Report a problem with an image

To report identifying information, unsafe content or anything else wrong in an aquarium, email hello@charmreef.com with the aquarium's link and enough detail for us to find the image. You do not need an account. Please do not attach another copy of harmful content. We review reports promptly.

If you believe something on Charmreef infringes your copyright, email us with the work, the aquarium's link, and your contact details, and we will look into it.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep Charmreef available and your fish safe, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service, that every photograph will read, or that data can never be lost. Please keep the original paper drawings.

Except for the promises we make in these Terms and the rights the law protects, Charmreef is provided “as is” and “as available.”

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability the law does not allow us to exclude or limit, and nothing takes away your consumer rights or our refund promises.

If Charmreef shuts down

If we decide to close Charmreef permanently, we will stop taking payments and give at least 30 days' notice on the site and by email to account holders. During that time we will provide a way to download the fish images in your aquariums before anything is deleted. The download contains the fish images, not a working aquarium.

A plan is a license to use Charmreef while it operates, so plan payments are not refunded when the service closes. This does not affect refunds you have already asked for within the 7-day refund window.

An emergency, a legal requirement or a serious technical failure could make advance notice or downloads impossible. If that happens, we will explain as soon as we reasonably can and provide whatever downloads are still possible.

Changes to these Terms

We will publish new Terms with their effective date. For important changes we will normally give at least 30 days' notice on the site and by email to account holders; a legal or urgent security change may need to apply sooner, and we will explain it as soon as reasonably possible. Where a change needs your agreement, we will ask for it. A new version never changes the price of a purchase already made and does not apply to a dispute that already exists.

Questions and disputes

Contact hello@charmreef.com with any concern and we will try to resolve it. You do not have to wait for our reply before taking steps to protect your legal rights.

California law governs these Terms, except that you keep any consumer protections that apply where you live and cannot be waived. Disputes may be brought in any court that has authority to hear them, and nothing here removes your right to use a small-claims court or to contact a regulator.

Everything else

You may use Charmreef and print our coloring pages for your family's personal use. Rights in the site, the software and the original coloring pages remain with their owners; this does not change your family's rights in its own drawings. If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies as far as the law permits.
